Mary Lehman introduced Marilyn Link.

Mary Lehman and Marilyn Link.

Marylin, a retired mathematics teacher, had us create various geometric shapes using one sheet of 8.5 x 11 paper. This exercise is supposed to exercise the mind thus keeping us from sinking into the darkness of senility. The last exercise was to cut a hole into the sheet of paper large enough for the whole body to pass through. Ben Amstutz was one of a few who accomplished that.

Ben Amstutz demonstrating his creation.

This is how to cut it.

Kiwanis Education.

1. The first Kiwanis club was organized in Detroit, Michigan, USA, in 1914. The group received a charter from the state of Michigan on January 21, 1915–the day that is regarded as the birth date of Kiwanis. The club’s name is Detroit Kiwanis Club No. 1 in recognition of its heritage.

Quotable Quotes.

Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace!
Where there is hatred let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
Where there is sadness, joy.

St. Francis of Assisi
