Meeting.

President-Elect Knapp opened the meeting in the traditional manner. Happy/Sad dollars were collected.

Hans Rehrmann reported on the Aktion club's anniversary celebration. There was a special meeting on Monday the 28th of July. It is imperative that the Aktion club has a ball park figure of how many people will attend so that they have an idea as to what size of facility to request for the event. Hans has sent email to all members to that end. Please reply ASAP.

Larry Goins reported on the trials and tribulations of our lake Fest food stand operation. In spite off running out of propane, having to use Larry's grill, and torrential rains on Saturday and Sunday we cleared $1,960.

Program.

Rita Schmit introduced today's speaker cardiologist Jerry Boley. Dr. Boley spoke about his training and that his specialty is non-invasive cardiology which includes stress testing, consultation and heart imagery. His praxis is affiliated with Mercer Health and is located at 4112 Monroe road West of Celina.

Kiwanis Education.

64. The Kiwanis administrative year begins on October 1. Originally, clubs and districts operated on the calendar year. However, Kiwanis International officers were elected at the annual conventions in early summer and assumed office immediately or, beginning in 1950, on August 1. This led to many problems of budgeting, programming, and leadership. For example, each International President worked with two sets of district governors and club presidents, and vice- versa. Finally, in 1969 the administrative year
beginning October 1 was adopted for all levels of Kiwanis organization.
