President Rosengarten opened the meeting in the traditional manner. Happy/Sad Dollars were collected.
Board Meeting.
The following items were discussed:
1. Old Business.
Mariners Baseball Team.
Ballots – Mary is going to prepare them
We need candidates for Vice President, 3 Board members to replace outgoing members Hans, Karen and Teresa.
We also need candidates for club secretary and we are required by division 2 edict to furnish the Lieutenant Governor for Kiwanis year 2014-2015. This is a high prestige position within Kiwanis.
April is "Skip-A-Meal" month. We are to donate the cost of one meal each. An envelope is available at the check-in desk.
April is also "Kiwanis One Day" month. However, we have decided that it does not necessarily have to be performed in April. We decided to clean up the down-town area again as we did last year and a tentative date has been set for Wednesday July 10th.
Don't forget that J. T. still has golf booklets for sale. I you are a golf enthusiast or know of any these booklets are a great deal and an easy way for the club to raise some funds. Please see J. T. for more information.
2. New business.
The Newsletter editor was not present at today's meeting and is unaware of the proceedings. The gas card winners will therefore be announced in next weeks newsletter.

Regular Meeting
March 13, 2013
The Kiwanis Club of Celina held its regular meeting on March 13, 2013 at Romer's Westlake . As part of this meeting, several items were included that needed to be completed because of the canceled Board of Directors Meeting.
Mid-Year Conference: Ken Rosengarten, Hans Rehrmann, and Teresa Smith attended the Mid-Year Conference on March 8. They reported on the sessions they attended.
Skip-A-Meal Month: April is the traditional Skip-a-Meal month promoted by Kiwanis International with the funds raised designated to the Kiwanis International Foundation. Our club will participate and each member is asked to donate $5 during the month of April to this project.
Mariner Support: An invoice was received from the Grand Lake Mariners for support of the 2013 season. Treasurer Ruth Link will check the budget, but she believes it is already included in the budget for the year.
Sources: A letter was received from Sources regarding funds we had donated to the Family Fun Festival which was canceled. They inquired what we wished to be done with our contribution. A motion was made by Hans Rehrmann and seconded by Teresa
Smith to direct the contribution to the Emergency Aid Fund main-tained by Sources. Motion passed.
Gas Cards: The winners drawn for gas cards were Mark Armstrong and Linda Noll.
The meeting continued with Division II Lt. Gov. Linda Steinbrunner speaking to the group.
The meeting concluded at 1:00pm.
Mary Lehman, Secretary
Kiwanis Education.
2. Kiwanis was created by a professional organizer named Allen Simpson Browne. His concept for the new organization included the exchange of business among the members. However, the Detroit club had been organized only a few weeks when the members became involved in their first service project. During
the next five years, Kiwanians would debate the basic purpose of the organization: mutual business exchange or community service.
Some Native American Wisdom:
A Native American elder once described his own inner struggles in this manner:
"Inside of me there are two dogs. One of the dogs is mean and evil. The other dog is good. The mean dog fights the good dog all the time."
When asked which dog wins, he reflected for a moment and replied, "The one I feed the most."
