Meeting.
President Rosengarten opened the meeting in the traditional manner. Happy/Sad Dollars were collected.
President Rosengarten announced that he had received a letter from Romers Catering informing him that they are losing money on our meetings to the tune of $660.00 per year. Therefore, in order for us to keep meeting at their place, they would need to collect for a minimum of 15 meals per meeting. President Rosengarten will talk to Romers to let us stay at least for the rest of the month of May at the current rate because of our membership drive spread over the next three meetings. This would also give us a chance to look elsewhere.
Hans will ask for help from the Aktion club to assist with the
Cancer Pancake Breakfast scheduled for June 15, 2013 at the Mercer County Fairgrounds once more details are available.
Scholarship Awards.
President Ken Rosengarten represented the Celina Kiwanis Club at the annual scholarship awards held at the Celina Senior High School on Monday the 29th of April.

Possible Kiwanis project?
The following was copied from Kelly Anderson's Facebook page. Kelly spoke to us a couple of weeks ago about adopting and foster caring:
DONATIONS NEEDED! So when you are doing your spring cleaning remember this. A Child's Hope is collecting gently used clothing, toys, bikes, car seats, high chairs and anything else you can think of! We need items to cover children newborn to 18. Donations can be brought to the church on May 16th and 17th from 9 to 7. We are hosting a BLESSING EVENT on May 18th from 9-2. Foster/Adoptive families can come and shop for FREE! I have talked to several teens in foster care and they are very excited about this event! Many children are taken out of their homes with the clothes on their back. Please consider donating to this event! Drop off location is St. Pauls UMC 119 Fulton Street Celina, Ohio 45822. Please feel free to share this message. IF your have any questions PLEASE contact Mindy Sudhoff or Kelly Anderson.
This sounds like a good idea for our club to get involved with as it helps the children.
Board Meeting.
Kiwanis Education.
6. The first president of Kiwanis International was George F. Hixson of the Rochester, New York, club. He was elected at the first convention in Cleveland in 1916 and re-elected the next year. He is the only International President to serve for two terms. The Hixson Fellowship of the Kiwanis International Foundation is named in his honor; Hixson medals are presented to donors who have contributed at least $1,000 to the Hixson Endowment Fund or the Worldwide Service Project.
