J. T. Irmscher has agreed to host the weekly club meetings at CJ HighMarks effective with the June 5 meeting. Details forthcoming. Thanks, J. T.

Anyone wanting to attend the Division 2 meeting on 5 June in Delphos is to contact Mary Lehman.

Program.

As a stand-in for Matt Overman, Jenny Jamieson introduced Jeff Fortkamp the Director of Celina's Parks and Recreation.

Jeff Fortkamp
Jeff spoke about all the things they do. I have copied their 2013 calendar of events. Jeff elaborated on a new feature at the swimming pool called a climbing wall. This wall is visible from Market street. He also mentioned some of the lesser known things that the recreation department does, such as flag football, kick ball and the Fall Festival. Our club might get involved with the Fall Festival for "Make a Difference Day".

Kiwanis Education.

7. Kiwanis International’s continuing service focus is called “Young Children: Priority One.” This program seeks to serve the special needs of young children from prenatal development to age 5 in four areas: maternal and child health; child care and development; parent education and support; and safety programs and pediatric trauma care.

Some Native American Wisdom:

Cherokee Prayer BlessingMay the Warm Winds of Heaven
Blow softly upon your house.
May the Great Spirit
Bless all who enter there.
May your Mocassins
Make happy tracks
in many snows,
and may the Rainbow
Always touch your shoulder.
